Light Form - Tackling spatial qualities of structural elements
At the heart of our project is a desire to challenge conventional perceptions of heavy-looking structures and explore the boundaries of ambiguous spaces. We were intrigued by the question of why certain architectural projects appear solid and substantial, and set out to investigate the underlying forces at play.
Drawing inspiration from Barkow Leibinger's "Ticket Pavilion," we sought to expand on the idea of how forces can influence the form of a pavilion. By exploring the interplay between form, materiality, and structural forces, we aimed to create a pavilion that defies traditional notions of weight and solidity.
Our project is an exploration of the potential applications of these concepts, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in architectural design. Through careful attention to materiality, structure, and the forces at play in the built environment, we seek to create a pavilion that challenges our perception of space and form.
